Currently, NOAWS is leading in the rescue of the dogs left at Mile 26-Wurtete. We are trying to raise at least $300.00 per animal to assist the shelters who have taken in dogs. All Heart Pet Rescue, Petsave, Moosonee Puppy Rescue, ARK, Clarington, and NOAWS, have taken animals into their care. Some of the dogs had to be treated immediately and all the adult dogs need to be vaccinated, de-wormed and spayed/or neutered before they can be adopted out. Veterinary costs can add up very quickly.
